The house is situated inside Quinta das Camélias Eco Luxury Resort of 10,000 m2 of agricultural farmland.
Public transport at the door and a short Uber ride that takes you directly to the historic centre of Porto and the Port Wine Cellars.

Things To Do on Your Trip To Porto
Port Wine Cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia
The Port wine cellars are mostly located on the banks of the Douro, but some, such as Taylor’s, Graham’s, Croft or Cockburn’s are a little further away.
Bolsa Palace
The Palácio da Bolsa was built on the ruins of the Franciscan convent that was destroyed in a fire. Its construction began in 1842 and it took almost half a century until its inauguration in 1891.
Porto Wine Museum
The beautiful building is located in front of the river, in the area of Porto known as Miragaia, relatively close to the “Palacio de Cristal” gardens. Nonetheless, it is easier to arrive via the Ribeira.

A large number of camellias blush the path, which can be enjoyed among fountains and sculptures. From these gardens we can see not only the Douro River and several of its bridges, but even the mouth of the river into the Atlantic Ocean.

Convento Corpus Cristi
This convent was built in the 14th century and originally stood close to the river. However, given the frequency with which the River Douro flooded, the Dominican nuns decided in the 17th century to build the church that can be seen today
Hospital de Santo Antonio
Located in the Historic Center of Porto, more specifically in Largo do Professor Abel Salazar, Hospital de Santo António completed, in 2020, 250 years since the first stone was laid.

Joaquim’s house is well located for access to the beach and Porto. It was nice to be a little away from the city center to relax a bit. Spacious space with everything we needed, including a towel warmer in the bathroom!

I had a lot of fun in Porto. It was easy to get there by bus and taxi. The apartment was charming and had everything we needed for the week. Very nice host who couldn’t do enough for us . I would love to come back next year.
We had fun at Joaquim’s house. He is a very friendly and helpful host and personally welcomed us for check-in, showed us around the property and gave us great tips for the area. The property is as in the photos and the kitchen is very well equipped. The apartment is very spacious, so we could have imagined it for a longer stay. From the apartment, you can do a lot or enjoy the excellent swimming pool.

We stayed with four friends at Joaquim’s house in Porto for three nights. The house had all the essential amenities and the proximity to the beach was an advantage since we came for surfing lessons. The house was very clean and the large pool added to the experience. Joaquim’s welcome gift of his homemade port wine was a very nice gesture – the Tawny was delicious. Joaquim is a very sociable host who likes to come and chat with guests and gave us useful restaurant recommendations. We recommend this Airbnb to friends, families and couples. Thank you, Joaquim!
